Building self-awareness, resilience, identity and a positive mindset.
Youth Transition Opportunities & Pathways Programme
We help young people navigate the transition from matric into further education, employment, entrepreneurship and meaningful opportunities — through confidence-building, skills, mentorship and connections. From feeling stuck to taking purposeful action.

For many young people, completing matric is not the end of the journey — it is the beginning of a difficult transition. They leave school with aspirations, but face:
As a result, many young people become NEET — Not in Employment, Education or Training.
Y-TOPP exists to help change that. Waiting does not have to mean standing still.
Discover → Develop → Connect → Act. Our approach is practical, participatory and youth-centred.
Building self-awareness, resilience, identity and a positive mindset.
Understanding strengths, interests and the study and career routes available.
CVs, interviews, workplace readiness, communication and professional behaviour.
Practical digital capability and financial literacy for everyday economic participation.
Business thinking and space to develop their own ideas into something real.
Connections to employers, training providers, further education and networks.
The next chapter
From July 2026 to July 2027, Y-TOPP becomes a twelve-month journey with the same cohort throughout: empowerment, confidence and resilience sessions first, then three days a week placed in partner schools — Bongani Primary School and Sokhanyo Primary School in Gugulethu — and two days in the Y-TOPP workshop, preparing each young person for employment, further study or their own enterprise.

Young people cannot transition successfully through one organisation alone. We work with schools, employers, training providers, funders and community organisations to create real pathways.
